Consumption of the Plasma Consumables
Typically plasma nozzles and electrodes wear close to 1:1, and typical life is in the 4 to 10 arc hours (arc on and cutting) range. This can dramatically vary depending on average cut duration times (short cuts will allow for more starts, but less hours, long cuts will allow for less starts, but more hours. Shields typically show a ratio of about 1 shield for 10 electrodes. swirl rings and retaining caps are close to 1 each per 100 electrodes. These come from sales numbers.
Consumable life has little to do with sheet/plate thickness....rather, will vary based on power level, gas process used, as well as the average duration of cut cycle times.
